A lifelong martial artist, Schyler has been practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Boxing since 2009. In 2014, Schyler moved to Phuket, Thailand to study Muay Thai and chase his dream of fighting professionally. After spending a year training and fighting in Thailand, Schyler returned to Maryland where he joined the Ground Control family. Since then, he has represented Ground Control at the highest levels of Mixed Martial Arts, competing in Bellator MMA and coaching teammates in the UFC and PFL. As the head instructor at Ground Control Sykesville, Schyler prides himself on creating an environment that facilitates growth for all members. He teaches youth classes, adult Muay Thai and BJJ, and also runs the Ground Control MMA program.
